Today’s topic creeps me out just a little bit, but not enough to keep me from sharing it (and continuing to use it!). You see, I ran across a great new app called SurveyMini. The idea is that you fill out surveys about retailers you visit and in return earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards.
Seems innocent enough, right? I downloaded it a few days ago and ventured out to Home Depot last night (doing work on our home, but that’s for another post). When I got home, an alert popped up on my phone telling me that I had a new survey. I opened it up and it said “have you visited Home Depot recently?”. Woah, super creepy.
So other than the fact that it follows you around and knows where you shop, it’s a pretty cool and easy way to earn free gift cards. I’m not one of those conspiracy theorists (i.e. I’m pretty sure I’m not interesting enough to have someone tracking my movements or listening to my phone calls), so I’m okay with it. Bring on the gift cards.Share on Facebook
