I got my latest cable tv/internet bill today and my eyes just about popped out of my head – I can’t believe the amount of money I’m paying every month for basic cable and mediocre internet. This morning, I couldn’t stand it anymore so I contacted my cable company. After chatting (in a very friendly tone, might I add) with the customer service rep about wanting to lower my bill, I asked about any specials they might be running that could help me pay a bit less but keep the same packages.
By the end of the conversation, I hung up paying $40 less a month plus I got an upgrade to more channels with free HBO for a year. Moral of the story – always ask for a better rate. I usually do this about once a year with my cable company and they are almost always able to lower my bill. Some offers only last for 6-12 months though, so make sure you get clarity on the promotional period and set an alert to call the cable company back yearly to keep your rate low.
The only problem now…..I’ve got so many movie channels I might never leave the house.
P.S. Who can name the movie featured in the photo above? One of my favorites….Share on Facebook
